A swarm of bees in May
Is worth a load of hay;
A swarm of bees in June
Is worth a silver spoon;
A swarm of bees in July
Is not worth a fly.
There I was on a July morning,
I was looking for love.
With the strength
Of a new day dawning
And the beautiful sun.
And at the sound
Of the first bird singing
I was leaving for home.
With the storm
And the night behind me
Yeah, and a road of my own.

Has your dog (or any other pet) ever eaten your lunch?

    Yes, my dog Pretinha always eats what is in the hand of my youngest.

    She is very quick, she gets and runs, my youngest cries every time.

    I don't have a dog, but good on you Laika.

    Oh Laika! Is her food untasty or do you forget to feed her? :))
  • TeachTeach Your Teacher HomePosts: 10,661 mod
    @Elfish - If I forgot to feed her, she would simply eat me. No, I forgot to keep an eye on the ham I put out, and when the heating engineer came, Laika took advantage. You can take the dog off the street, but you'll never take the street out of the dog.

    @Elfish, at least Laika doesn't eat my headphone cable.

    Ha ha @April. I never knew cats liked croissants.

    It is in the past tense, and it's not off topic. Maybe I should change the question to your (or anyone else's) pet...

    :D

    BTW - a cat has a mouth, but as this was big enough to carry off a croissant maybe we should say, with the croissant in his maw.

    A lion has a maw.

    @Marianne - poor Jasper. Did he still taste from your plate after that?

    Silly cat. I'm not sure. But my Siamese was far more sensible. She used to like rice but wasn't too keen if the food was spicy (tandoori chicken excepted).

    I mean the little dog he is poor because is sick and my daughter she is poor because she is worrying and need to care him.

    If our cat is on the table again, I gurantee I buy a gun and shoot him down.

    He is next to me, enjoying the warmth coming from the fireplace, while I read the post out loud. I hope he knows how is meant.

    Ah thank you @Goldiw. We would say the little dog is poorly, and your daughter is worried sick about him.

    I hope the little fellow gets better.

    @Hermine - I doubt it. (On both counts). ;)

    My cat always knew when she was in the doghouse by my tone of voice. I just had to say "Get off the table" in a very stern voice and she knew immediately that she had to get down as quickly as possible.

    Thank Lynne to corrected me.
  • mheredgemheredge Posts: 48,481 ✭✭✭✭
    Lynne corrected you. You could also say 'Thanks Lynne for correcting me.'

    Maybe with one shot the cat get down the table more quickly than a very stern voice. :-j

    We will get fish today and the cat is not allowed to be in the house.
  • mheredgemheredge Posts: 48,481 ✭✭✭✭
    I never used to give my cat fish-flavoured cat food as it used to make her breath smell so much I didn't want to be anywhere near her.
  • HermineHermine Posts: 9,636 ✭✭✭✭
    I don`t promise I smell better. ;)

    What sort of fish were you cooking up yesterday Hermine!

    Of course you could be making up a fishy tale to get us worried.
