By all these lovely tokens
September days are here,
With summer’s best of weather
And autumn’s best of cheer.

Helen Hunt Jackson - September
The breezes taste
Of apple peel.
The air is full
Of smells to feel-
Ripe fruit, old footballs,
Burning brush,
New books, erasers,
Chalk, and such.
The bee, his hive,
Well-honeyed hum,
And Mother cuts
Chrysanthemums.
Like plates washed clean
With suds, the days
Are polished with
A morning haze.

That's very interesting @Lynne. Is there any difference between British English, American English and English used by everyone else I wonder? (Does Facebook have a quiz to check how happy we are....)

Well, language is only expression of the culture, expression of the awareness of life, and it is why Spanish may be the happiest language - ask the people in Latinamerica how they are, and they will answer Super! Ask the German, and they will always say not so well - althoug they have no half of the problem poor people have!
