"The April rain, the April rain,
Comes slanting down in fitful showers,
Then from the furrow shoots the grain,
And banks are fledged with nestling flowers;
And in grey shawl and woodland bowers
The cuckoo through the April rain
Calls once again."

    I go for a walk as well. It really helps to get rid of stress. Sometimes, taking shower also soothes my nerves.

    I usually find house work is a good distraction but lately in the evenings, I'm spending twenty minutes or so gardening. This is very relaxing.

    @alea and @Bubbly. Yes, I agree with you, going on a walk relaxes ones mind. It will help you recharge your strength also..

    When I'm getting stressed, sometime I go for a walk. Sometime go to the cafe, order a cup of coffee and do something fun, playing mobile game or have a conversation with friends.

    For me a cup of tea is a very good way to calm down @Zeya, but going for a walk is a very good idea too.

    When I under stress I first deep breath. After that, I watch to be alone, and do excerices. At that way, my stress down fall, and after one hour I become calm person again without stress.

    I don't take a deep breath @walter, but I often count to ten or if I receive a nasty email (it's happened a few times), I never respond immediately and leave it for the following day - or I don't reply at all.

    When I am stressed, I use to massage my ring finger as there is an acupressure point on the ring finger which releases stress and generates nerves of happiness in our body, and it actually works.

    Moreover, listening to music works for me in such cases. I don't usually go out for a walk when I am really stressed, but when I do, it feels good indeed. :)

    Really @Dora, I never knew this. I will have to try it next time I feel stressed. For me a cup of tea helps a lot. I don't know if this is a particularly 'British' thing, but traditionally tea works wonders.
