On this breezy October morn, I walk
in the swift shadows of cloud-cursing rooks,
watching the world wake on the horizon.

All houses wherein men have lived and died
Are haunted houses. Through the open doors
The harmless phantoms on their errands glide,
With feet that make no sound upon the floors.

We meet them at the doorway, on the stair,
Along the passages they come and go,
Impalpable impressions on the air,
A sense of something moving to and fro.

Confusing abbreviations

I just had to work out what DM meant in this sentence:-

For those that don't know, Clyde is the Discord bot. He's been telling you things from time to time now, i.e. if you try to DM someone that's blocked you, if you use the /nick command to change your nickname.

Now I can add a new meaning of DM to my current list:-

Doc Martens
Deutsch Mark
drogerie markt

And now:-
direct message

I will add it to the list:-

Context is key with a lot of abbreviations, but it is incredibly difficult to work out what they could be in a second language. And the age of technology has made things even more difficult, as everything seems to be abbreviated while "DMing"!
