"Still lie the sheltering snows, undimmed and white;
And reigns the winter's pregnant silence still;
No sign of spring, save that the catkins fill,
And willow stems grow daily red and bright.
These are days when ancients held a rite
Of expiation for the old year's ill,
And prayer to purify the new year's will."

Yesterday I was skiing first time in this season. It was fabulous; blue skies very less skier - that is very important to me, because Iˋm scared when the loips are full of them.

    This is what puts me off about skiing @Hermine. When I come back from my holidays I might venture to one of the resorts near Nice to try if there is enough snow. Do you think they will let me go with the young children? I'm scared of the big slopes and the fast skiers that race down.

    @mheredge, why not. They only thing Iˋm scared of is to get them off the ski lifts. The seats are very slippery and when the bars get open they could easily fall off before their skis touch ground.

    - Skis are the tools we use to skie.
    - to skie is the verb
    - Skier is the konkret-noun

    Have I left something out.

    The verb is actually to ski @Hermine. It is very unusual but the word ends in an 'i'.

    I agree, jumping off the ski-chairs is something I wonder if I will have the nerve to do now. I never gave it a second thought when I was younger but now I am not used to them and my knees are a lot more fragile, this might be a problem.
