By all these lovely tokens
September days are here,
With summer’s best of weather
And autumn’s best of cheer.

Helen Hunt Jackson - September
The breezes taste
Of apple peel.
The air is full
Of smells to feel-
Ripe fruit, old footballs,
Burning brush,
New books, erasers,
Chalk, and such.
The bee, his hive,
Well-honeyed hum,
And Mother cuts
Chrysanthemums.
Like plates washed clean
With suds, the days
Are polished with
A morning haze.

John Updike, September

Do they play Last Christmas from Wham! in your country on the radio during the advent time?

In Germany they play every year "Last Christmas" from Wham! during the December on the radio. They do that for decades now. It's like a ancient christmas tradition. Are they doing it in your country too?

I can't hear it on the computer I'm using at the moment @MatthiasAndernach so I don't know if I am hearing it around (I don't think so).

Last Christmas, I gave you my heart
But the very next day you gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special
Last Christmas, I gave you my heart
But the very next day you gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special
    Once bitten and twice shy
    I keep my distance
But you still catch my eye
    Tell me, baby
    Do you recognize me?
    Well, it's been a year
    It doesn't surprise me
(Merry Christmas!) I wrapped it up and sent it
With a note saying, "I love you, " I meant it
Now, I know what a fool I've been
But if you kissed me now
I know you'd fool me again
Last Christmas, I gave you my heart
But the very next day you gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special
    Last Christmas,…
