"Still lie the sheltering snows, undimmed and white;
And reigns the winter's pregnant silence still;
No sign of spring, save that the catkins fill,
And willow stems grow daily red and bright.
These are days when ancients held a rite
Of expiation for the old year's ill,
And prayer to purify the new year's will."

You might find these Youtube Dispatches news items good for listening practice and at the same time, learn a bit about the problems commuters face in the UK.

    He's a good mayor for London @Bubbly. I hope that he will become a member of Parliament later as I think he would be a good politician to have in the government.

    @mheredge I think he worked more on traveling related issues that a common person in the UK faces. This is what made him popular. I don't think he would become a member of Parliament as there is a strong lobby against him.

    I think it is fairly common for mayors of London to become members of Parliament after they finish working as mayor @Bubbly. Look at Ken Livingstone (Labour) and Boris the unmentionable (Conservative).

    @mheredge well in that case, he must be lucky to get a chance to sit in the Parliament.

    I'm sure he'd get a lot of support @Bubbly.
