Old Year and New Year by Christina Rossetti

New Year met me somewhat sad:
Old Year left me tired,
Stripped of favourite things I had
Baulked of much desired:
Yet further on my road to-day
God willing, further on my way.

Economics explained by two cows. This is hilarious. Two cows highlight the differences between various political and corporate systems. Yes, the comparisons are simplistic, but each one contains some grain of truth.

In order for the world to work, we have to give and take, and compromise a lot of the time. Some countries seem to be better at that than others!
