"Still lie the sheltering snows, undimmed and white;
And reigns the winter's pregnant silence still;
No sign of spring, save that the catkins fill,
And willow stems grow daily red and bright.
These are days when ancients held a rite
Of expiation for the old year's ill,
And prayer to purify the new year's will."

My list is very long @ech0pandit! I love oysters, foie gras and truffles, but these are very expensive so I don't eat them very often!!
  • ech0panditech0pandit Posts: 200 ✭✭
@mheredge ,if you ate them very often , they wouldn't have had been your favourite because you appetite of getting them would decrease , i mean the hunger to get it lol
  • mheredgemheredge Teacher Here and therePosts: 36,162 mod
Maybe @ech0pandit, but also the foie gras would make me very fat.

I do like fish a lot and in a few minutes I will be making lunch with the cod I bought in the market yesterday.

well my love for food depends on time , if i am away- i would really want the home made food by my mother
if i am at home i really want to eat the comfort foods lol.... that contain pizza, pasta ,pav bhaji etc ... etc

I like vegetables a lot and over the weekend roasted some red peppers. They taste wonderful after they have been cooked slowly in the oven.

I am looking to try out making fondant potatoes from this recipe, but I just need to chose which of the many cooking methods suggested.

I'm a big fan of salad and especially if the weather is warm @ech0pandit. However since the weather has been so bad, I have been glad of the batches of soup I made and put in the freezer. This is very useful 'comfort food' for when it is cold.

I really like eating chicken or mushroom soup when it's cold or when I feel under the weather. Nothing warms me up more than a steamy bowl of chicken broth @mheredge .

I was planning on making some Thai green curry yesterday for the freezer (and dinner) until I discovered that I didn't have any coconut milk. Today I am going to have to get some as I have all the other ingredients. I will make a veggie version and then later if I want to add chicken, I can always add this at the last minute.

I like burritos. Do you all know that? it is like bread with basically everything inside lol
  • mheredgemheredge Teacher Here and therePosts: 36,162 mod
I like burritos but with guacamole, cheese and sour cream @danrog. On their own, they do nothing for me.
  • ech0panditech0pandit Posts: 200 ✭✭
i have never eaten a burrito but i can sure as hell say it sounds tasty by how you guys describe it @mheredge , @danrog

They do look good when stuffed like this @ech0pandit:

  • ech0panditech0pandit Posts: 200 ✭✭
yum they look amazing , i can sense the red chutney's spicyness from here only
  • mheredgemheredge Teacher Here and therePosts: 36,162 mod
I had some very ripe tomatoes and a big red pepper which I didn't know what to do with, so I roasted the pepper and cooked up the tomatoes and some onion and garlic, mixed them all together and now I will freeze up portions to use whenever I need something to go with pasta or for that matter pretty much anything.

add some ginger to have a kicking sense of taste, i mean if i could , i would use ginger in almost all savoury tasting things , although i have tried ginger with only one sweet dish that is tea LOL, it is good and works like a charm for sore throats and common cold
  • mheredgemheredge Teacher Here and therePosts: 36,162 mod
That's a point. I have some garlic and ginger paste in my fridge that I could add @ech0pandit.

Today I had veal liver cooked so it was still pink inside. It was cooked in a lovely sauce made from herbs and garlic. It was delicious.

I like eating in general XD I love pizza, the specialty of my country (Italy) although, the food that I like the most in the world is sushi !!!
    I really love it!
I eat it at least once a week! XD
  • mheredgemheredge Teacher Here and therePosts: 36,162 mod
I am rather partial to sushi too @Dakota. But have you tried other Japanese dishes?

I like fish a lot. I was very upset to find that I had left a packet of smoked herring in the bottom of a bag. I had to throw it away as it was past its sell-by date and beginning to whiff a bit.

I so loved wandering the market in Amritsar @ech0pandit. And the Golden Temple is the best!

On a boat, sharing with two others, eating food everyone likes can be hard. I like the same as my friend but her brother invariably doesn't like 'healthy' food. And since we can only cook one dish (saving fuel and not enough cooking rings), it's always a compromise.
  • ech0panditech0pandit Posts: 200 ✭✭
@mheredge , kinda same situation with me , I reside in a hostel though, and the food here is pretty much more bad than yours , but what choice do we have , and nothing gives me more joy than going back home and eating the food like an animals , like just bring it on . haha(i get carried away sometimes when it comes to food).
  • mheredgemheredge Teacher Here and therePosts: 36,162 mod
Today we restocked on fruit and vegetables, and some cheese and muesli that somehow ran out too fast. I'm happy as I have something I'll eat for breakfast now, as I don't like corn flakes!

Here in the north of Spain, people eat too much. I like octopus, the Russian salad, the fried eggs, the Galician empanada and many other things.
  • mheredgemheredge Teacher Here and therePosts: 36,162 mod
Do you really mean that they eat too much @javier, or that they enjoy eating too much? I find the food of Spain delicious and healthy too.
  • javierjavier Posts: 287 Inactive
the people of the north of Spain have a reputation that they eat more than after parts of the country and also that the food is very good
