Has anyone ever tried to play high end games by setting up their own servers in the cloud?

Seemingly there is a way to run games from Steam on a rented cloud server and stream it to a local low-end pc.

The instructions are here: https://lg.io/2015/07/05/revised-and-much-faster-run-your-own-highend-cloud-gaming-service-on-ec2.html

I wondered if any of you had done something similar.
