By all these lovely tokens
September days are here,
With summer’s best of weather
And autumn’s best of cheer.

Helen Hunt Jackson - September
The breezes taste
Of apple peel.
The air is full
Of smells to feel-
Ripe fruit, old footballs,
Burning brush,
New books, erasers,
Chalk, and such.
The bee, his hive,
Well-honeyed hum,
And Mother cuts
Like plates washed clean
With suds, the days
Are polished with
A morning haze.

Thanks to @verom_gonzalez we are going to try another game. So If it is hard you can blame @verom_gonzalez ! lol

Look at the two words. There is another word that will finish the first one and start the second one. See the example below:-

dining - top

The word that could go in the middle is table so you get dining table and tabletop.

So have a go at this one! :)

garden - press

garden gutter and the gutter press

I'm stuck for ideas with garden and press @amatsuscribbler. I'm not sure that garden gutter is right as I would have thought that it should be two words typically associated with each other.

French press would work for press, but French garden doesn't.

Garden fork works but no fork press.

Press up is okay but no there's garden up.

tea garden - tea fork (spoon?)
    rose garden - rose press

    public garden and public press?

I quite like this game, not sure though, that I'll be good at it. Thank you @verom_gonzalez for the idea.

Yes @Vok, I think you've cracked it. @amatsuscribbler are there any more words that would work for these two words? I'm stumped for ideas.

Hi guys - there is no right/wrong answer. There might be 2 or more ones that work.

I was thinking of 'bench':- garden - bench/bench - press.

Do you think it's too hard? @verom_gonzalez and I wondered if it might be but I'm happy to caarry on for a bit if you all want a few more. :)
