In lands I never saw -- they say
Immortal Alps look down --
Whose bonnets touch the firmament --
Whose sandals touch the town --

Meek at whose everlasting feet
A myriad daisy play --
Which, Sir, are you and which am I
Upon an August day?

As usual, our discussion ranged over a lot of subjects starting with the question adaptable are you?
https://www.ted.com/talks/natalie_fratto_3_ways_to_measure_your_adaptability_and_how_to_improve_it?language=en

'Exploration is a state of constant seeking. The speaker says you should not fall too much in love with your wins but rather continue to proactively seek out what might kill you next. When she first started exploring adaptability, she found we can improve it and we all have the capacity to become more adaptable. But think of it like a muscle: it's got to be exercised. And don't get discouraged if it takes a while.'

I think a lot of people are afraid of change and try to stick to old ways, the familiar things that make them feel secure.

Changing the country you live in is a big change. In some countries, life is less predictable from day to day.

'In you Ukraine you live as in powder keg'
powder keg - like a bomb about to explode - gunpowder.

Keep on top of the news - but if it is only speculation or propaganda, what can you believe?

News about North Korea is full of propaganda. Tour guides there say things to make the country look great, but it can be seen how things this isn't true.

Pull a face - grimace - scowl - frowning - expression.

Cat among the pigeons - stir up.

Changing the subject to pollution and how China has put its foot down in not accepting garbage or rubbish from countries sending it there for disposal.

They are being strict in saying no.

Scorpions - Wind Of Change

I follow the Moskva
Down to Gorky Park
Listening to the wind of change
An August summer night
Soldiers passing by
Listening to the wind of change
The world is closing in
Did you ever think

I can feel it everywhere
Blowing with the wind of change
Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow dream away (dream away)
In the wind of change
Walking down the street
Distant memories
Are buried in the past forever
I follow the Moskva
Down to Gorky Park
Listening to the wind of change
Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow share their dreams (share their dreams)
With you and me
Take me to the magic of the moment
On a…
