"Still lie the sheltering snows, undimmed and white;
And reigns the winter's pregnant silence still;
No sign of spring, save that the catkins fill,
And willow stems grow daily red and bright.
These are days when ancients held a rite
Of expiation for the old year's ill,
And prayer to purify the new year's will."

    What do you mean @mheredge? Are they wise inside or not?
  • mheredgemheredge Posts: 46,901 ✭✭✭✭
    Appearances can deceive. They might look old, but inside they're still young at heart @Hermine.

    I hope I'm never old enough to know better.

    Even the prayer 'Our Father' is going to be altered at least a line.

    What changes are being suggested to the Lord's prayer @Hermine?

    And lead us not into temptation....

    Marianne, I hope I translated it correctly 'Don't leave us into temptation...

    God would never lead us into temptation, but it does the Devil.

    That's a very good point @Hermine. God is hardly going to lead us into temptation. I never thought of it this way.
